For those that are new to our gym, the dream started at the beginning of 2018 and quickly became a reality in 2019 when we established ourselves as LEG1ON Training & Performance. On June 8, 2020, we officially opened our HQ doors across the street from our barebones warehouse pop-up gym. Opening this business in a pandemic and tactfully overcoming two shutdowns couldn’t have been possible without our amazing team and the clients who have put their faith, trust, and loyalty in LEG1ON.
There are no excuses to be made and many obstacles to overcome to get to where our potential lies. The celebration of our 1 year anniversary is meaningful, but let’s enjoy it for a few moments and then get back to the mission.
On a more personal level…
I have so much to say, but I know I will never have the right words to convey what I mean. It’s because of you that I strive everyday to be better than yesterday. It’s because of you that I never settle for average. It’s because of you that I encourage challenges to make me grow. It’s because of you that a legion was formed. It’s because of you that I will never take moments like these for granted.
Thank you to my family, friends, and the coaches and staff at L1TP for believing in me and making me feel like I’m a part of a team again.

LEG1ON Training & Performance
With nearly a year of planning in the books, LEG1ON Training & Performance found its home in late October after months of searching throughout Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas. The building, which used to be an autoparts store, among other businesses, needed a complete makeover before it could be opened. Construction would begin in December.
With the buildout of headquarters slated to take months, L1TP opened up a “pop-up shop” in a building nearby. Lots of work was needed to make this temporary space suitable, including long nights of cleaning, laying rubber, and getting everything in working order.
Construction was in full swing to make headquarters what it is today. The building would need a full facelift, including demolition of previous structures, new HVAC, bathrooms, flooring, and a dedicated retail area.
While work continued on headquarters, LEG1ON Training & Performance was making a name for itself in the community. The team was accepting clients and joining forces with schools and companies while building its brand for an anticipated April opening.
With clients continuing to support L1TP in its pop-up shop, headquarters was coming together. Each day, more and more equipment arrived, and everyone started to realize the dream was becoming reality.
In March 2020, COVID-19 shut down businesses and halted all construction until it was deemed safe. L1TP’s headquarters was put on hold, right before flooring and equipment were to be finished.
With turf and rubber finally finished, the L1TP staff started putting the finishing touches on the building. New fixtures to the old autoparts store included furniture for the conference rooms, retails desks, televisions, and many other amenities.
Equipment continued to be built in anticipation of the shutdown being lifted.
LEG1ON Training & Performance officially opened its doors on June 8, 2020.
